
Mark Coughlan
Chairman
Mark Coughlan is a pianist, conductor, artistic director, gallery owner and educator and has been closely involved with many arts and education organisations. Mark is the founder and artistic director of Government House Ballroom concerts and directs the annual New Year's Eve concerts in the Perth Concert Hall. He is Chair of OpusWA Arts Orchestra and Chorale and in 2012 was Founding Chair of Lost and Found Opera. For 10 years Mark was a Board member then CEO of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Mark is passionately committed to mentoring and supporting young people in the arts through his many ventures. Until recently, he was a member of the WAAPA Advisory Board and is a former Head of Music at UWA. Mark is the founder and director of The Orangery Gallery, a restored arts space showcasing West Australian artists and musicians. Mark studied in Perth and London and is a three-times finalist for West Australian of the Year in the Arts and Culture category.

Olivia Ferguson
Board Member, Mezzo-Soprano
Olivia is a Perth-based mezzo-soprano who embraces a diverse world of music. Her journey as a classical singer has been a colorful blend, encompassing Opera, Musical Theatre, and Jazz. As a member of OpusWA, Olivia has contributed to every concert since the company's inception, and been a member of the OpusWA Board since 2020.
Some memorable productions with the company include Mozart’s 'Marriage of Figaro' (Cherubino) and 'Magic Flute' (Boy Spirit), alongside Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Vaughn-Williams’ Donna Nobis Pacem, among others. In addition to her classical repertoire, Olivia has showcased her talents in musical theatre, portraying leading roles in productions such as 'Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat', 'Big Fish', and 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum' with the Midnite Youth Theatre Company.Olivia is currently Education Manager with West Australian Opera.

Beth Redwood
Board Member, Soprano
Beth Redwood is a Perth born Soprano and graduate of a Bachelor of Music, majoring in Classical Voice, from WAAPA. Her operatic highlights with OpusWA include the Countess (The Marriage of Figaro) and Papagena (The Magic Flute). Whilst at WAAPA she was proud to play the roles of Gretel (Hansel and Gretel), and Ethyl (Pirates of Penzance).
In 2022 she was honoured to win Most Outstanding Senior Vocalist in the North of Perth Music Festival, and this year Beth is thrilled to join the Young Artist Program with the Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra.
Beth regularly performs as a chorister and soloist with several professional ensembles including OpusWA and the Perth Symphonic Chorus. Since 2020, Beth has also been an active Board Member of OpusWA. Beth is also passionate about conducting and music education. She has been teaching voice and piano for almost a decade and directs choral ensembles with the Australian Girls Choir, West Australian Opera and at Newman College.
