OpusWA is made up of an eclectic and enthusiastic group of singers and instrumentalists, who all share the passion of delivering to WA audiences fine music performances that are accessible, entertaining, and inspiring. The orchestra and chorale comprise a dedicated group of artists at varying stages of their musical careers, including music students, recent music graduates, current music professionals, retired music professionals, music teachers and others who perform at a level of excellence despite working in different fields.
Previous productions include a season of Benjamin Britten’s opera The Rape of Lucretia (November 2019), produced and directed by Ian Westrip OAM. Handel’s Messiah was performed in December 2019 and 2020, and continues to be a regular part of our performance repertoire. We have performed Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute, Vaughan Williams’ cantata Dona Nobis Pacem, and a Gala Concert at Government House Ballroom including Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasia.
Please check our upcoming performances on the Upcoming Events page.
OpusWA is excited to present our ArtSong series of concerts. The ArtSong series has a focus on intimate musical offerings from our up-and-coming graduates in line with the OpusWA manifesto of supporting young singers. The concerts feature piano, chamber music and vocalists and cover a variety of musical styles including lieder, jazz, music theatre and more, ranging from Baroque to Bacharach.
